Ear Infections
Ear infections in dogs are often caused by an overgrowth of yeast or bacteria, leading to head shaking and ear scratching. Common signs include ear discharge, debris, and a foul odor. Ear infections can be itchy and painful, and if left untreated, they can cause serious damage. If your dog shows signs of an ear infection for more than a day or two, visit your vet. Ear infections can sometimes accompany skin issues and may be related to allergies.
